PROVIDING WASTE AUDITS, WORKSHOPS, AND
ZERO WASTE SUPPORT FOR 80+ BUSINESSES
Seattle Public Utilities Green Business Program
Seattle’s Green Business Program offers free tools and assistance to help Seattle area businesses save money, conserve resources, and prevent pollution.
Seattle Public Utilities and Cascadia Consulting Group both hired Blue Daisi Consulting as an outreach consultant to foster advocacy-based relationships with Black-owned businesses and new food service businesses. We are also supporting the development of resources that will expand the use of durable dishware and packaging to prevent unnecessary waste in food service businesses.
Through this collaboration, local small businesses and non-profit organizations like Valerie Madison Fine Jewelry and Technology Access Foundation have invited us to perform waste audits and lead sustainability workshops for their teams. We are currently on track to engage with more than 80 Seattle-based businesses in 2022.
FOSTERING A SUSTAINABLE CULTURE WITHIN A
GLOBAL PET NUTRITION COMPANY
Hill’s Pet Nutrition
The SustainAbility Employee Resource Group (ERG) Leadership Team at Hill’s Pet Nutrition hired Blue Daisi Consulting to foster a culture of sustainability among Hill’semployees.
In our first year working together, we coordinated monthly challenges and facilitated quarterly virtual workshops that engaged over 200 employees in building zero waste habits while they worked from home.
Currently, in our second year working together, we are focusing on maintaining these new habits and bringing the zero waste mindset employees have gained back into the office and their roles at work.
From the Hill’s Pet Nutrition team:
“We don’t have to rely on ourselves to be “experts” and we don’t have to find “experts” every time we have a question. We trust the information Moji gives us. We have an excellent working relationship with Moji and are so excited to continue our collaboration with her this year.”

Past Projects
AN ACTION PLAN TO PREVENT UP TO 80% OF
BASELINE WASTE FOR ONE DENTISTRY
Children’s Dentistry of Beaumont
Even after Waste Management stopped offering recycling services in her area, it was important to LeeAnn McQuade for her pediatric dentistry businesscompany to be a sustainability leader in her community. After our very first conversation, LeeAnn said: “Thank you for listening to all my random ideas and thoughts and turning them into meaningful conversation.”
We led her staff through a baseline assessment which included a waste audit and interviews with key staff members to understand their contributions to current operational processes. We also facilitated a virtual workshop to encourage team buy-in and address questions from the staff about zero waste.
While some waste in the medical industry is necessary to protect our health and safety, we created a plan that would prevent up to 80% of their baseline waste generation from being sent to the landfill. Once she had her final action plan in hand, LeeAnn felt fully supported in getting her dental practice going in a “better, more planet-friendly direction.”.
Let’s talk about how we can tailor our existing framework to design a project that meets your needs.
SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING AND TECHNOLOGY
SOLUTIONS FOR A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE
Get the Bag LLC
Get the Bag LLC is a seasonal subscription box that connects their audience to Black-owned businesses. Gloria Ware, the company’s founder and CEO, was looking for sustainability resources tailored to small businesses when she found Blue Daisi Consulting.
After working together in a single coaching session, Gloria finally felt like she had the permission she needed to explore sustainable business practices in a way that aligned with both her personal and brand values. Following the session, Gloria said: “[Moji] asked great questions and was able to generate many new ideas.”
Since working with Blue Daisi, her business has decreased it’s spending with less sustainable packaging vendors, incorporates QR codes to reduce paper used for packing lists, features more brands that incorporate eco-friendly packaging, and has pursued green business certification through Green America. We also have co-facilitated a workshop for other small businesses looking for guidance around reducing waste.
